A 14-year-old contestant on ‘The Voice’ receives the fastest chair turn.

De Rijcke, under the guidance of her coach Gers Pardoel, achieved impressive victories throughout the contest. Pardoel, in his debut season as a coach in 2018, propelled De Rijcke and his other vocalists to victory over more experienced trainers.

What many viewers may not realize is that 2018 was not De Rijcke’s first attempt on ‘The Voice Kids.’ She auditioned in 2017 but did not advance past the blind auditions. De Rijcke later attributed her initial failure to nerves and disappointment, as her audition didn’t even air on television.

However, De Rijcke refused to be discouraged by the setback. Instead, she redoubled her efforts and made a triumphant return, exceeding her own expectations. Sometimes, failure serves as the catalyst for hard work and eventual success in any endeavor.
